RULES & CONSTITUTION OF THE DUNDEE QUIZ LEAGUE
1) The name of this Association shall be THE DUNDEE QUIZ LEAGUE
2) The League Committee shall consist of the following: -
A) PRESIDENT
B) VICE - PRESIDENT
C) TREASURER
D) MINUTE SECRETARY
E) MATCH SECRETARY
F) TWO AUDITORS
3) There will be an Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.)within six weeks of the end of the season. Every player registered in the previous season will be entitled to attend and vote at the A.G.M.
4) The Bankers of this Association shall be :-
Bank of Scotland Fairmuir Branch
Clepington Road
Dundee
5) All monies of this Association shall be checked and recorded by the Treasurer and an appointed Auditor.
6) Fees : Entry Fee and League Fees for the D.Q.L. shall be £25.00 in total.
7) A Statement of Accounts will be issued at the A.G.M.
8) Teams shall consist of FIVE PLAYERS PLUS THREE RESERVES, ONLY FIVE PLAYING AT ANY TIME DURING A GAME. Substitutes only to be used at half-time.
A) Teams must be registered 7 days prior to their first game.
Any new players must be registered 7 days before their
first game.
All Registration Sheets must be forwarded to the Match Secretary
B) Teams having difficulty with signings may approach the Committee for help in signing new players and a decision will be taken by the Committee.
9) A player may register for only one team.
10) All League Games START AT 8.00 p.m. Three players are required to start a game. Late players may join after completion of a sheet section. Teams must be recorded on back of score sheet and signed by the player and, at the end of the game signed by both Captains.
11) No fixtures may be postponed, rearranged, started early or late unless permitted by the Committee.
12) Home team to supply a Question Master plus paper for both teams
13) The League Question Compiler cannot be a member of a League Team and must be an Honorary Member of the League or a Committee Member.
14) The Match Secretary shall check all answer sheets and amend scores if necessary.
15) Captains Meetings :- One person from each team MUST attend the Captains meetings, which will be held on the second Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated.
A) Any team missing a Captains Meeting shall be fined £1.00. If they miss the following meeting the fine will be increased to £2.50 and ONE POINT will be deducted from their League Points. A letter will be sent to their home venue. Any further missed meetings will result in the fines and points deductions being doubled.
B) Results of matches must be phoned in to the Secretary on the night of the match. A fine of £1.00 will be levied on any team not complying.
C) All letters of complaint sent to the Secretary, for consideration at the next captains’ Meeting, must be accompanied by a fee of £1.00 which is returnable if the complaint is upheld.
D) The maximum and minimum number of teams in each and any divisions shall be decided by the elected Committee.
E) Any person causing a misdemeanour at any function or game held by the D.Q.L. and damaging the good name of the D.Q.L. will be called before the Committee and a decision taken as to their future in the D.Q.L.
F) Any member wishing to amend this Constitution must do so in writing, to the Match Secretary, 28 days prior to the A.G.M. where the proposal will be put to a vote provided the proposal has a seconder.
16) All Competition Rules shall be applied as laid down by the Standing Committee.
A) The Competitions run by the D.Q.L. shall be: -

SINGLES DOUBLES
B) Venues shall be selected by the Committee
